The weekend of the NextEra 11th Annual JMGSC Show and ASU Block & Bridle Fall Expo added a few new twists this year in the form of a pre-show scavenger hunt, Old Goat Showmanship, and a post-show goat costume contest! At the conclusion of ALL the competitions on Saturday, an awards ceremony was held to honor the Champions and Reserve Champions in 9 categories of goat showing. Exhibitors, parents, and spectators alike had a blast with all the festivities. It required many eager volunteers and a very supportive Board of Directors and Jr. Board to make it all come together! The Junior Meat Goat Show Circuit continues to prove that it exists solely for the benefit of the youth! The JMGSC would like to share the following thank-you note we received from a long-time member family who SAYS IT BEST! |

What a weekend! We just want to say thank you for a wonderful experience. We’ve been involved with JMGSC for several years with Chance, but this is the first year for our daughter Payton to be involved at the “member” level. We forgot what it was like to be at the “starting point”. This show was only her 2nd time to be in the show ring and she gained so much experience, but more importantly, new friends and a vast amount of confidence. I don’t know who to thank specifically, as I know it must have taken a village to run the show(s), the scavenger hunt, the prizes, etc…. Payton absolutely loved the scavenger hunt. What an amazing idea! It was a great way to get the kids to ‘mingle’ with each other and the parents as well. It was fun for everyone, adults included. What an awesome group of people! What better way to relax after a weekend of goat shows than to stretch out under a shade tree in your very own custom-designed swing?!
Click on picture for larger view. Tickets available at most JMGSC-sanctioned shows - $5 each or 5 for $20! The seat is 4' wide; overall dimensions are 8' at tallest point and 6'8" wide. Drawing will be held at JMGSC Awards Banquet. Proceeds go to benefit JMGSC members. |
| Rule reminder: The goat that is used for the Showmanship show must be entered in the sanctioned show and must be owned by the exhibitor's immediate family. |

ALL 2009
MEMBERSHIPS WILL EXPIRE 1/9/2010! Memberships must be renewed at this time to be eligible to receive points in the 2010 season. Each member earns 5 points when dues are received and an additional 5 points if received by January 31, 2010*.
Your age division for 2010 will be based on your age as of 1/1/11.
*PLEASE NOTE: Membership Rule #12 states: Each member of the JMGSC will pay an annual membership fee of $25.00. Members will be awarded points after dues are paid, NOT before. The date dues and fully completed membership forms are received by the JMGSC Executive Secretary will determine the date of membership. You will receive 5 points for entering and 5 extra bonus points if dues are received by January 31, 2010. Postmarked dates will NOT be accepted. Clarifications: (1) If you forget to enclose a check or money order with your form, your membership is not effective until the money is RECEIVED. (2) Postmark dates, dates of application and dates of check are NOT accepted as membership effective dates. Only the date the dues are RECEIVED in the JMGSC office are considered membership effective dates. (3) There are NO exceptions to this rule. This rule applies equally to everyone and has been in place since at least 2002!
**Allow a MINIMUM of 5 regularly scheduled mail delivery days for mail to reach this office. This location does not have overnight mail!** See note on Newsletter page.
