The Junior Directors

President - Kortney Williams

Kortney is a 17-year-old senior who has been showing goats and lambs for 9 years.  She enjoys seeing all her friends at the shows, but dislikes the driving and clipping.  Her most exciting accomplishment was being named Intermediate Division High Point Overall Champion and having the champion carcass at the State Fair.  Her funniest event happened when her goat attacked the judge during a showmanship class.  She says of the incident, "Shockingly, I didn't win."  Other activities include Hoop 10 Premier Club basketball, jewelry making, painting, and different forms of art.  She plans to major in psychology or alternative energy.  She was a member of the Hoop 10-BCI National Champion 13U team, BCI National Champion Runner-up 14U, All-District, District Co-Champions, Area Champions, 4-H President for 2 years, and County Council Officer.

Vice-President - Baily Nickerson

A 17-year-old junior, Baily has shown goats and lambs for 9 years and enjoys meeting people.  She does not like shearing and washing the animals and her most exciting win was Lightweight Champion at Ft. Worth.  The funniest event Baily witnessed was when Stormy's goat took off and she still held on.  Other hobbies include rodeo and basketball.  After graduation, Baily wants to attend WTC for 2 years and transfer to Tarleton to become a coach.  An interesting fact about her is she thinks she is clumsy and falls a lot.

Secretary - T.J. Warren

Parliamentarian - Garrett Hancock

Garrett enjoys showing pigs and heifers along with goats.  He is 15 and in the 10th grade.  He doesn't enjoy the travel time involved with showing, but does like making friends and bonding with his family.  Garrett believes his most exciting win would have to be the 2007 State Fair.  He cannot identify a funniest event; he just has fun with friends and family.  He loves running, playing golf and acting in theater.  After high school, Garrett plans to attend Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Agricultural Engineering or theatre.  A most interesting fact about him is that he can run 3 miles in 18 minutes and 33 seconds.

Member - Colton Fritz

Colton has been showing goats for 6 years, and also shows lambs and heifers.  His favorite aspect of showing is preparing his animals for the show and his least is when they get sick.  His most exciting win came at the State Fair 2009 where he won a class with a goat he raised himself.  The funniest thing Colton can remember happening at a show was when T.J.'s goat got away at Houston.  Roping, traveling, hanging out with friends, designing and building things are favorite ways for Colton to spend his time.  After graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M to major in civil engineering.  He raises and sells show goats and placed in the Top 10 in the state for Livestock Judging.

Member - Logan Lee

Member - Sierra Harris

Member - Chance Medlock

Chance is a 15-year-old sophomore  who has been showing for 8 years.  He most enjoys going new places and meeting new people but does not like getting up early and driving late at night.  He also participates in FFA, football, basketball, track, band, OAP, and church youth group.  Upon graduation, he plans to major in business at Texas Tech.

Member - Christopher Martinez

The JMGSC Jr. Director program was implemented in 1997 to allow our members the opportunity to grow in leadership, public speaking, and public relations skills.  Our current Board of Directors is focusing on the importance of the Jr. Board and is encouraging this group of exhibitors to have significant input into all aspects of the JMGSC.

It is an organization “OF the youth, By the youth, and FOR the youth.”
